DensShield® Tile Backer is an ideal tile backer board for high moisture areas because it has a built-in moisture barrier that stops moisture at the surface. DensShield® Tile Backer is designed for use as a tile substrate for ceilings, floors and countertops. DensShield® goes up faster and is easier to handle than other tile substrates.

• For use under porcelain and ceramic tile

• DensShield® Tile Backer provides an excellent backer for sidewalls and ceilings in bathtub and shower installations, where it provides an even, solid substrate for porcelain or ceramic tile

• DensShield® Tile Backer is composed of a water-resistant treated gypsum core that is covered front and back with fiberglass mats

Extended Description

DensShield tile backer is a substrate that when properly installed is virtually unaffected by water or moisture vapor It has a water resistant treated corethat is covered front and back with glass mats and does not require a separate water barrier. DensShield has been shown to be excellent for tile and non-tile installations in wet and non-wet appli- cations and areas of high humidity. It may also be finished with paint or wallpaper. Because of the dimensional stabil- ity and strength it can be installed parallel or at right angles to framing in wall and ceiling applications. DO NOT use for exterior installations, as a shower pan base or floor, with passive solar heat systems, or as a base for nailing and mechanical fastening
